Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.

1st Oct is child health day , and on this occasion i thought to write some thing on child health.

"Man is nothing but a combination of spiritual and corporeal nature"

Children are so loving and cute , many people in India believe children are avatars of God, and they treat them so well as if they are treating God ;god himself  visited  to their home in form of a child. Days are gone when such believers we can find every where and now it very hard to find such people,Families broke into nuclear from joint, and from nuclear to nano families which doesn't have any connection with the societies, some times  there is serious absent bond with their own relationships. This  so called ultra modern society with latest Gizmos and other technology to beat the time and pace of life,  doesn't have even time to look after the kids, they often leave the kids at mercy of maid  or crutch, toddlers and kids made their friend in the cartoons networks( a virtual world) No trace  of real touch ,feel ,goodness of love to the kid not even the grandparents stories nor the lap of mother, can make them really emotional distorted people in future. It is really pity to see the life of parents who are carrier oriented as they call themselves carrier first and children later, Running a race, a competition which will have no end. will only know the importance of kids when the race is lost, surely when kid grew up he also have not time for the parents.

A child needs most of the love till age 5 years , that too mothers love, which is very much lacking in the modern day society and they are getting older in the hands of maid where there is no emotional attachment is developed. A serious thought is needed to correct their life and bring back happiness to their lives because the children are long term investments.

child gets feeding with umbilical chord in the womb, as soon the child is born he is connected with silver chord to the cosmos from there he gets universal energy constantly, whenever there is resistance in getting that cosmic energy to his body and resistant force is reduced in the body , the body gets sick.

WHO(world health organisation) definition of Health : Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Every  parent wanted to keep their children healthy and fit ; for healthy living according to me in this ultra modern living age we need to take care of some important things to keep kids healthy

1) Make them Sleep in proper posture , provide environment so that they sleep sound.

2) Nutritional food, unadulterated easy digestible which suits to their age a big NO NO to staple food or noddles ,pastas and soft drinks

3) Make them learn breathe properly ( for kids above age 7 make them learn breathing exercises)

4)  Sports and exercise which involves interaction and being a team player 5) keep away form radiation and  electronic technology until they enter into teens

5) spiritual discourses, which make them learn about their own self.(inspite they dont understand them consciously subconsciously they learn.

6) Bhajans and prayers, to make them strong enough to fight challenges.

7) Money Saving methods and money mechanics once they reach age 9-10

8) How to visualize things to become creative in thinker, and make them cling towards positiveness, suitable age 5years and onward.

9)Activities involving environment friendly making them to learn about nature.

10) our ancestral culture , traditions and festivals so that they would be socially interactive.

11) activities involving to learn Good manners: how to talk, the way of communication involving his overall personality, learn to be  compassionate, non violent yet able to express their emotions.

kids comes up with  packages of inherent natures  which keep on changing with the growth of physical body and the conscious mind, they are 1) Wild 2) indiscipline 3) primitive urges 4) Uncivilized

1) Wildness , they have their rules and they are wild so one need to understand that make them one among us LOVE is the best thing to tame wildness..

2) Indiscipline  Kids don't have self control on their senses , so they don't maintain or even understand sense, parents need to train them to understand the senses and their discipline once the kids reach age 7-15 is the age when they needs the most solution breathing exercises..

3) Primitive urges: basically the man is wild so their primitive urges surface Dont have control on their voice( speech) so they need to know how to use the speech system: solution Power of talking and how to talk

4) Uncivilized: One need to make them fit for civilization  so that they  live happily under law and constitution of human society; to make children learn some thing we need to be exemplars  because for a kid parents are role model most powerful people, we need to learn first to become parents to make child learn. A caution you can give your love to kid but you can never give your mind( thoughts), They will have always their own thoughts and life, let them live on their own after 18 years, and take charge of patrons role. I believe every civilization have healthy people who continue to make themselves better to protect their civilization by reaming HEALTHY, yes we want our generations to be healthy so we need to protect our seed, to make it Good garden to enjoy fruits.

The book, the inkwell and the feather

Thanks Diwakarji, for being a greatest motivation in my life. After I read the story u shared, it inspired me to find a story that has good value in it and share here as well as to my baby.
Stories are such a wonderful way to convey to anybody irrespective of ages. Here is one such story which has a value of co operation and positivity.

Once upon a time , there was an empty storybook. The book had an impressive attractive cover, looked great but the pages were empty.
Children and grown ups picked the book with anticipation, but found no stories inside , they kept the book aside. There was a lovely inkwell, full of ink. He was forgotten by its owner and it was there in some corner. The inkwell and the story book cursed their bad luck,
and spent their days.

As luck would have it, the book was thrown away, that ended up next to the inkwell.
They both exchanged their sad stories and lamented about their bad luck.
After a few days passed , there was a beautiful swan feather floated down and landed next to these two.
Having fallen from his swan, the feather felt lonely and abandoned for the first time in his life. He cried and cried, Hearing his cries the book and the inkwell joined in, letting out all their sadness at the years of neglect.
But unlike his friends, the swan feather soon tired of crying, he decided to improve his situation. Drying his tears, and stopping complaints, he started to think about the ideas to make their lives better.
He thought about it quietly, clearly and calmly and then he came up with ideas, clearly seeing how the three of them , working together, could achieve a lot more than just complaining and wasting their valuable time.
He convinced his friends to write a story. The storybook opened up his best pages, the inkwell didnt spill and the feather contributed great thoughts and beautiful writing. Together they managed to write a lovely story about three friends
who helped each other to improve their lives.
Then a young teacher who passed the friends, thinking about how to get his pupil's attention, found the story written by them so interesting. He picked the three friends( the book, the inkwell, the swan feather) and went to his school.
when the lessons began he told the story written by them and they students were all so attentive and loved the story.
Every night from then on, feather , storybook and the inkwell got together and wrote a new story for the young teacher.
They felt so happy to have changed their fates with the help of hardwork and co operation.
(author: Pedro Pablo Sacristan).

Moral:

Positivity , striving to make it better , always yeilds great results. Co operation is strength.
Time is precious. Instead of complaining we can try to think of the solutions of the problems and improve the situations.

Bed time stories -1

Though i have no experience of telling stories to the kids at bed time , I love to take part some day to share stories. read some nice short stories so thought to bring up here some.

Jacky- The shy Hippo

Jacky Hippo was too lazy to run and play. He was happy to be sitting all day in water and day dreaming. All he did was eat some grass and sit in water. All the animals we were worried about him. Chikki would peck on him to keep him clean and push away the annoying bees. But all Jacky would do was smile at her.

The annual festive season was nearing and all the animals geared for the fancy dress competition. The theme was about games and champions in sports. There was a nice party and dance after the competition. When Jacky heard the same, he was not even excited. He showed no interest to participate or talk about ideas he had.

Jacky’s mother was upset and told Chikki to do something about the same. Chikky told him, “Jack, Would you like to be a part of the fancy dress theme?” and all Jack said was a “No.” Chikki told him, “You know Shera is going to judge on us and there is a prize for the runner up too. But Jacky just moved to another spot and continued munching the grass.

The rehearsal was on and the animals decided to practice in front of Jacky. On seeing so much excitement, colors and props, Jacky’s eyes showed a glint of happiness. He came out of water and almost smiled. Jacky’s mom gave him a costume of a goal keeper of a football team. All the animals cheered him to wear the gear. Jacky was shy and put his head down. Chikki clapped and tweeted and all the animals joined in.

Jacky changed into his costume and emerged from the bush. All the animals clapped and Partha the fox taught him a few tricks on how to behave like a goal keeper. Jacky felt confident and practiced each day. He spent less time munching or being idle. Chikki was happy for him. On the day of the event, Jacky was shy to go on stage but all the animals cheered him. He gave a good performance and also won the prize.

Jacky was happy and showed the prize to his mother. He was no more shy or idle. He played and chased butterflies. He exercises and remains fit. Jacky is now happy as he is selected for the football team which has regular matches each year. (credit goes to Author Unknown)

Its simple keep children safe....

Dont

  • Don't encourage your child to use a mobile or cordless phone unless absolutely essential
  • Don’t let your child sleep near a cordless phone or wi-fi or mobile phone switched on
  • Don't use your mobile phone in the car with children unless you have an external aerial
  • Don’t keep your mobile phone close to your baby or child – never in the back of the pushchair
  • Don't let your child carry a mobile phone switched on in a pocket.
  • Don’t let your child play games or listen to music on a mobile phone

  • Don't hold the phone to your ear except for short essential calls
•  Avoid bluetooth enhanced SatNavand satellite tracking devices              (GPS)
•             Try not to use a mobile phone if you are pregnant.

Do

·         Encourage short calls and texting rather than calling.

·         Ensure your child's mobile phone is turned off at night and as much as possible when not in use.

·         Keep cordless phone calls short

·         Replace your cordless phone with a wired phone or a low radiation phone

·         Replace your wireless computer router with a non-wireless router (most standard routers are wireless)

·         Replace your digital baby monitor with a wired or analogue baby monitor or a low radiation digital monitor

·         Turn off your mobile phone when children are nearby, especially in the car and at night

Switch off the cordless phone (handset and base) and the wi-fi router at night if you have them.

Try only to use your mobile phone with a headset or on speaker phone mode or  plugged into an external aerial in the car.

Thinking of buying a mobile phone for your child?...Think again

Recently i read informative article on wired child and they are doing very nice work in the feild of awareness building against ill effects of wired technology.

Are mobile phones dangerous?

All the independently-funded studies that included long term users have found an association between mobile phone use and an increased risk of brain tumours amongst adults  Some studies have found that people who have used mobile phones for more than a decade have 200% more brain tumours, and only on the side of the head where the user holds the phone.

Nobody can tell how big the increased risk is yet because scientists don’t know how many years someone has to use a mobile phone to increase their chances of a brain tumour.  Many scientists believe that the studies done so far, which at most show the risks of people who have used their mobile phone for about 10 years, are only showing the tip of the iceberg and that the risk will peak after 20 or more years of use.

Lung cancer takes between 15 and 35 years to manifest, and there could be a similar time lag between starting mobile phone use and contracting cancer.

There is evidence of other health problems associated with mobile phone use, not just brain tumours. A mobile phone doesn’t just expose the head.

Studies indicate that microwave radiation has many othereffects on health. These include impaired fertility, pre-natal damage and an increased risk of a range of illnesses, like lymphoma, leukaemia, breast cancer and Alzheimers. Sometimes, the radiation produces short-term symptoms like headaches, nausea, sleep disturbance and depression.

What do scientists think?

Scientists have been raising the alarm about the risks of mobile phones. In 2007 a group of 14 experts published the Bio-Initiative Report, which reviewed the science relating to the health effects of mobile phones and wireless technology and found that current standards are not safe.

Following the Bio-Initiative Report, a number of governments and the European Parliament changed its advice and the French government has announced legislation to ban advertising of mobile phones to children. Read more...

In May 2009, 5 scientists published a review of the long-term epidemiologic data in a respected scientific journal, Surgical Neurology, which concluded that "there is adequate epidemiologic evidence to suggest a link between prolonged cell phone usage and the development of an ipsilateral [same-side] brain tumour."

The EU Envronment Agency has said that it believes scientific evidence is now more strongly in favour of a link between long-term use of mobile phones and brain cancer risk and is calling for regulations to guard against head tumours.
In October 2009 the Radiation Research Trust issued the Fifteen Reasons for Concern report endorsed by more than 40 scientists, discussing the scientific landscape surrounding mobile phone health risks, especially the multinational Interphone Study commissioned by World Health Organisation. The Fifteen Reasons paper calls on governments to give the highest priority to actions including banning marketing campaigns of cellphones designed solely for children, fincancing a wide-ranging awareness campaign aimed at young people to minimize their exposures to cellphone radiation and requiring warning labels on all wireless devices.

More dangerous for children

Research shows that radiation penetrates more deeply into a child's head and also that children’s thinner skulls absorb much more radiation than an adult’s. A Spanish study found that a single call lasting just two minutes, can alter the natural electrical activity of a child’s brain for up to an hour afterwards.

Another study found that children who had used a mobile phone before they were 20 had five times more chance of getting a brain tumour later in life. That five times greater risk might be the tip of the iceberg because there is every chance the risks increase the longer the phone is used. The increase in risk could turn out to be much greater when the full long-term effects have been studied in the future.
Additionally we do not yet know how significant the impact of exposure to other new radiation sources, like cordless phones, wi-fi, Bluetooth, baby listening monitors and games consoles, will be or how the different sources interact in their effect on children's bodies.

These now ubiquitous products add to the radiation “load” experienced by children growing up today but the effects of long-term exposure to them are untested  Many scientists fear for the impact this will have when today’s children grow up.

So when you piece together all the studies, there is a strong indication that this radiation is unsafe at levels our children are being exposed to. How dangerous, and how big the impact on our children’s long-term health, is unknown.

There is every possibility that the use of mobile phones now by children and teenagers could be increasing their risks dramatically. Their exposure to microwave radiation is literally millions of times greater than their bodies have evolved to deal with because naturally occurring levels of microwave radiation are negligible. It is as if they are guinea pigs in a global experiment of unprecedented proportions.

The UK Chief Medical Officers have advised against non-essential use of a mobile phone by children. The French government has announced it is going to ban advertising of mobile phones to children.

The impact of training

This Story explains the impact a young mind can have based on the trainings. Positive or negative lies in the training thats provided to them. Mind is a powerful tool which can break or make a person. Having told, the young minds-the kids minds, are the foundation of their growth and leading their own lives.

The baby elephant's leg is tied to the post, with a rope. The elephant has a limited area to move thats determined by the rope's length. Initially the baby elephant tries to break free from the rope. But the rope is strong and the strength of the baby elephant is not enough to let the elephant go off the rope.
It keeps trying for sometime after that it gives up. The baby elephant learns that it cant break the rope. It grows up and now its big and strong that it can easily break the same rope. But even now, without realising its strength, it still moves within the same area, without trying to pull off the rope from the post. It doesnt even try because it has learnt during the early times when it was young , that it cant break the rope. It continues to be in the same way.

The child's early stage is so important that they start to form perceptions about everything around them. Its in our hands to train their young minds on which the impressions made would last long.
Beliefs are formed on what they are being told and how they are being treated.
lets give them the healthy, positive environment and the approaches that give them the self confidence, all the positive qualities and to be a strong individual.

child development.

I heartily thank  Diwakar ji for inviting me for being author to this blog .I was  waiting for such an opportunity to express my thoughts.  .

Children are like seeds and bringing them to a good citizens is a challenge to each and every parent and teachers in this globalization era.The basic thought behind meeting the goal is

"सूबीजे सुक्षेत्रे जायते संपद्यते ."
Meaning: A good quality seed grown in a good environment gives good yield.

Children(babies) are god's creation and  gods every creation is wonderfull and of quality. So, half of our work is done by God, only other half of providing a good environment is only left over.

My basic interests revolves around early intervention(stimulation) of the childs brain, at home and school environment. The 50 % of the total intellectual development or the foundation of the development of a child brain is completed by the time a child is 4 yrs. old, 80 % by the end of 6yrs. old, rest 20% develops slowly till 12 yrs. So, it is easily understandable how important are the first four yrs. of a child.

we can broadly categorize childs development into 6 areas.
1. Physical Development.
2. Language Development.
3. Social development.
4. Emotional Development.
5. Cognitive Development.
6. Creative development.

A child is required to be tought in an activity based methodology for each and every area of development. A  child can understand the whole world through activities using their sense organs, much before they start to writing even a letter 'A'.  dear friends,  I will come up with my ideas to share with you with respect to all areas of development next time.

Baby betal

Build houses, and live in them. Plant gardens, and eat what they produce.
Get married, and have sons and daughters. Find wives for your sons, and let your daughters get married so that they can have sons and daughters. Grow in number there; don't decrease.
Work for the good of the city where I've taken you as captives, and pray to the LORD for that city. When it prospers, you will also prosper.............. Bible

Building houses and living in them , planting a garden and enjoying the fruits there on, Children are the long-term investments, it may be easy to have children naturally becoming biological parents, its far more difficult to be real parents  of the children. which needs lots of efforts and training. My intention to bring out this blog to share the ideas about up bring the child in a way to make them a good citizen  aswellas happy positive person.

Sigmund Freud believed that each stage of a child's development beginning at birth is directly related to specific needs and demands, each based on a particular body part and all rooted in a sexual base. While simplification of his theories is necessary in order to give an overview, he held beliefs that are quite complex. In order to understand the basics of his developmental stages, it is important to note a few things: Freud's age ranges varied a bit over the course of his work, largely because he acknowledged that development can vary a bit from individual to individual. Additionally, experience of the stages may overlap at times. Finally, Freud believed that the way that parents handle their children during each of the stages has a profound and lasting impact on the overall development of the child's psyche.

Sigmund Freud (1856-1939) developed his ideas about psychoanalytic theory from working with mental patients. Freud believed that personality has three structures: the id, the ego, and the superego. The id is the Freudian structure of personality that consists of instincts, which are an individual's reservoir of psychic energy. In Freud's view, the id is totally unconscious; it has no contact with reality. As children experience the demands and constraints of reality, a new structure of personality emerges- the ego, the Freudian structure of personality that deals with the demands of reality. The ego is called the executive branch of personality because it uses reasoning to make decisions. The id and the ego have no morality. They do not take into account whether something is right or wrong. The superego is the Freudian structure of personality that is the moral branch of personality. The superego takes into account whether something is right or wrong. Think of the superego as what we often refer to as our "conscience." You probably are beginning to sense that both the id and the superego make life rough for the ego.

Remember that Freud considered personality to be like an iceberg; most of personality exists below our level of awareness, just as the massive part of an iceberg is beneath the surface of the water. Freud believed that most of the important personality processes occur below the level of conscious awareness. In examining people's conscious thoughts about their behaviors, we can see some reflections of the ego and the superego. Whereas the ego and superego are partly conscious and partly unconscious, the primitive id is the unconscious, the totally submerged part of the iceberg.

While Freud theorised that children who smoothly transition through the stages grow to be calm, well centred adults, he felt that an unsuccessful completion meant that a child would become fixated on that particular phase and either over or under-indulge throughout adulthood. Believers of Freud's theories on child development, then, must surely make every effort to help their children through each of the stages, allowing each child to experience their feelings without guilt or excessive pressure to conform to preconceived ideas.

The bottom line, then, must be that parents should make every effort to educate themselves first about what is considered normal and healthy for their children and then balance the advice of child development professionals with their own parental instincts and common sense. For most parents, raising happy, healthy children is a top priority and by staying actively and directly involved in their children's lives, parents will be able to judge the progress that their children are making along the way. In most of the families especially in India the younger couple got caught in between the transition period of ancestral culture and peso american culture as largely the IT professionals are the first generation of the socio-economic change which is occurring right now, and these middle class people are the people who are educated in schools , college and than carrier race, so these people got time to interact with society and directly entering into marriage and then kids. So biggest challenge for them is parenting especially the girls, who often sacrifice their jobs for the sake of kid.

we would be sharing articles relating to the up bring of children and their challenges and what could be the possible solutions, and stories which we listening from our own grandparents in continuation of the tradition we carry forward the interesting stories the kids like.

God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them., and blessed with power to reproduce that image and asked them to multiply and enjoy the fruits of that garden.

A small story here, once upon a time a  village gardner went to the city to bring three exclusive fruits seeds for his garden, on way in return with seeds he got tired so he sleep under the shade of a tree, while sleeping two of seeds got slipped from his pants and fallen to the ground, after wake up farmer walked away without noticing that he lost two seeds. out this two seeds one got under the stones and burried other one picked by a bird and  flew away into the deep forest make feed to his younger baby on nest, but younger couldnot digest it and the seed falls down as dropping to the soil.

Few years later both trees one in the deep forest and other in the village garden, after appropriate time both trees are loaded with exclusive fruits.

Now question is which tree has got the value? the one which is brought up in the garden or which is in the deep wild forest? obviously the one which is in the Garden cos it was groomed under able guidance of the gardner who not only provided the best environment to grow but made available to people, whereas the wild forest one bear the same potency of excelency yet it is not available to people so it is not valuable or recognised, Gold becomes gold once it comes out of earth under the earth crust what is the value; likewise the kid who is parented by able parents gives not only the best environment but they give nice platform to show their talents, another kid might be equally talented person but when he groomed in wildest of atmosphere without any platform to perform he goes waste to dump.
so guys let become nice parents by becoming a good father a good mother to you children who are longterm investment for you, the real assest.
